Technology

Technology and education are now linked.  We recognized that at CKRS and provide each classroom with networked PCs to complement our 20 PC computer lab.  In addition to the arts, music and foreign language instruction, the students have computer class weekly. 

Multi Media

Since the turn of the 21st century, CKRS has been investing technology dollars into the classrooms, transforming the way our teachers teach.  In the junior high school, rooms are equiped with a SmartPanel wall mounted multi media distribution device along with NEC overhead projectors (with speakers).  This allows teachers to incorporate all forms of media into their teaching methods (world wide web, cable, DVD, VCR, etc).  This multi media capability allows teachers to replace traditional text books with CD text books, allows students to learn about world events as they are unfolding.  It opens up the classroom, to the far reaches of the world.  This is truly transforming the way our kids are learning.

Science Lab

We knew that, for our students to be successful when they graduated from CKRS, imvestment in science was important.  The lab was upgraded to include the necesary items to do science experiments - running water, lab tables, and the multi media technology were all installed.  The science lab allows for a connection to the teacher's microscope, so the students know what they are looking at in their microscopes.  All this along with new flooring, paint, etc.  Click here to see more pictures as well as a description of our science curriculum.
