A Day in the Life of CKRS Kindergarten Students

8:20 -  9:00AM

Morning Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and Administrative Business (Lunch Orders, School Notes, etc)

September - November -> Skill Building Assignment

December - June -> Copy homework from chalkboard

 

9:00 - 9:45AM

Language Arts

Letter recognition and sounds; word families; blending words; sentence structure; reading

Concepts introduced with whole instruction.  Practice and assessment with differentiate instruction according to the child’s ability.

 

9:50 - 10:30AM

Math

Number identification, grouping, patterning, graphing and tallying.  Logic and reasoning skills, simple addition and subtraction.  Touch upon time telling, money counting and recognition

 

10:30- 10:45AM

Snack Time

Light snacks and bathroom break

 

10:50- 11:15AM

Handwriting

Work with fine motor skills and positioning.  Practice basic strokes, and letter and number formation.

 

11:20- 11:50AM

Religion

Teach children how to trust, live and act with one another in a Christian like manner.  Introduce God and Jesus as our Savior, discuss the Holy Family and cover all Liturgical Seasons.

 

11:55 - 12:35PM

Lunch and Recess

In our state certified school cafeteria (kids may purchase or pack their lunch).  Weather permitting, play time out on the play ground

 

12:40 - 1:15 PM

Quiet Time

Back to the classroom for rest, bathroom breaks

December - quiet time becomes shared reading time

 

1:20 - 2:00PM

Specials Time

One specials class per day.

Computer Class; Art; Spanish; Gym; Music; (Basic principles and skills are introduced as it pertains to the subject)

A trip to the library happens weekly

 

2:05 - 2:45PM

Play time in classroom

Free play for the children with puzzles, books, games and blocks

 

2:50

Dismissal
